At its Nov. 19, 2025 meeting, the Madison County Board denied a solar project in Moro and two Wolf Road projects after strong neighborhood opposition. It approved a Rezy Road project after the developer agreed to setbacks, tree lines and agricultural fencing.

The board chairman said newly passed legislation, then awaiting the governor’s signature, specifically exempted the Wolf Road project. That gave the board more comfort rejecting it.

Update (Oct. 10, 2026): The legislation the chairman described, Senate Bill 25, was signed Jan. 8, 2026 as Public Act 104-458 and took effect June 1, 2026. It exempts a Madison County area bounded by Drexelius, Fosterburg and Wolf Roads from the 2023 siting rules (55 ILCS 5/5-12020(u)(4)).
