103.9 WLPO (Starved Rock Media) · Sept. 14, 2026
In July the La Salle County Board rejected a 4.95-megawatt solar array in Oglesby 20–7, after neighbors objected and questions arose about a wetland on the site. In September the board reversed course and approved it 21–4 with nine conditions.
The conditions include landscape screening, a vegetation management plan, an Army Corps of Engineers wetland review and a relocated entrance.
Disclosure: the project is on land around Starved Rock Media’s studios, and Starved Rock Media owns WLPO. WLPO reported the July rejection here: La Salle County Board Rejects Solar Array (July 10, 2026, Tom Henson).
